I do not own this product but am interested in buying it. I have owned 3 LG DVD burners and a Panasonic that lasted an average of 3 – 6 months before they gave up the ghost and either stopped recognizing commercially recorded DVDs or wouldnt burn non protected off the air programming (like to watch some TV programs on the road and DVR isnt portable). My question is – has this one lasted for anyone over a year?

We are happy with the Sony VHS DVD Recorder Combo. We decided that the Sony gave us the most features that we needed.

Very complicated to use. Sofar I have not been able to record off my tivo’d recording onto a DVD on this machine. It requires a degree of cerebration and work.

Very impressed with the quality of the product and the resulting video picture quality. However, I find there to be a major problem with not being able to download video pictures from my camera and then making more copies for others in my dubbing machine. I also think it is unfair not to be able to record movies from the TV. I needed to know this before I made the decision on a new machine.

Haven’t really used it much yet, but if it does what it says, I’ll be happy as a clam on the beach.
