This DVD is just perfect for my 1080p projector. Its digital TV tuner is amazing. I still have not had time to try out the recording capabilities. But so far I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

I TRIED 2 OF THEM AND NONE OF THE HDTV TUNER WORKED!! I WOULD GIVE IT MINUS 5 STARS!!!!!

I bought this product for my in-laws in December of 2007 so they could have something to record with and be ready for the digital signal age. First the good: The set up is as easy as it gets, which is great for old people. It picks up all the digital stations as good as any other unit that I have tried. Now the bad: It does not put out the digital signal through the antenna/cable out connector. This is not a problem if your tv has RCA inputs. Unfortunately, my inlaws had an extra old TV which did not have them. Secondly, the 480p signal is no better than the 480i, which is not a problem if you do not have an HDTV. Finally, the only way you can get an HD signal is to hook it up through the HDMI output. That is, your HDTV will only be able to recieve an 780p, 1080i, or 1080p picture through the HDMI output. My HDTV is older and it only has component input and does not have an HDMI input. To bad for them because I would have bought one for myself. Since I do not have the HDMI connection I cannot tell you how the picture looks through the HD. If you are buying this unit for an older tv smaller than 36″ then it will meet your needs as long as your tv has RCA or better inputs. However, if you are buying this for your HDTV then I would waite another year to buy one. I have tried the Panasonic, but I took it back because of the same issue with the HD signal only being good through the HDMI output. Plus, according to the feed back the Panasonic is having a lot of software problems. The only other one out there is LG and according to its feed back it is worse than all of them.

So far so good! Product has been easy to use and has provided quality recordings. Takes time at end of disk to write/finalize. Just need to plan accordingly when doing programming.

this is a great DVD recorded and not only that it also has a Digital tv tunner that you can get the lastest over the air hd channels localy and they come in great!!
I have move movies from tape to dvd very easy. I would recommend it to everyone else. Good Job Toshiba
